BARRIER-FREE FOOD SHELF
Barrier-Free Food Shelf
In the wake of the building destruction in May 2020 and the ongoing economic fallout from COVID-19, many of our neighbors were left without access to food and essential supplies. To meet this urgent need, we launched the Du Nord Foundation's barrier-free food shelf.
Between May 2020 and October 2022:
We distributed more than 400,000 lbs. of food and essential goods
We served over 40,000 individuals across the Twin Cities
Over 700 volunteers showed up to make it possible
This initiative provided crucial support at a critical time, offering relief without red tape. Though the food shelf program has concluded, the impact lives on through the relationships built and the community that came together to make it happen.
This initiative was completed in 2022.
